As 2024 comes to a close, it’s important to remember it’s not just about closing a chapter — it’s about recognizing how far we’ve come and setting the stage for an even brighter future. This year has been a banner year for the ARC Health and Wellness Community, and it’s all thanks to you — the dedicated health and wellness professionals.

Behind the scenes, you’ve been hard at work: providing nutrition education, developing impactful programs, offering personalized counseling, engaging with the community, collaborating across departments and staying ahead of industry trends. Your efforts continue to inspire others, and make a tangible difference in the lives of those you serve.

A standout feature of this year was our RD Close Up series, where we spotlighted 12 incredible dietitians, one each month. These articles celebrated diverse professionals who’ve made significant contributions to health and wellness, offering a glimpse into their unique career paths, achievements and challenges. As the community has expanded to include dietitians other than just retail dietitians, we’ve covered men and women working at hospitals, universities, private practices, health and wellness companies and even a juvenile detention center.

This year’s stories highlighted themes of career transitions and growth, entrepreneurship and innovation, cultural sensitivity and inclusivity and advocacy and education. These themes collectively underscore the evolving nature of dietetics, showcasing professionals who are pushing boundaries to integrate nutrition science into everyday life, improve public health and create change. These trailblazers have driven positive, sustainable differences in consumer behavior and exemplified leadership in the evolving dietetics field. To honor their journeys and insights, we’ve compiled the most compelling moments from this year’s profiles into a special year-end feature.
